The stewardship of public forestlands is an important responsibility to which you brought focus, direction, understanding, and perhaps most important of all in a public deliberative body, a tolerance of different points of view. Your consultations allowed us to begin making decisions about maintaining the Waterman Gap forest parcel, provided insight into the complexities of habitat conservation, and gave us the courage to embrace an uncertain future.
