"Chris Maser came to tour our county's public forestlands under fairly contentious feelings among a diversity of people ranging from county forestry employees, loggers, environmental activists and rural homeowners. Chris's great depth and breadth of experience, empathy and compassion for different positions made for a wonderfully educational day on the ground, showing and discussing the intricate web of forest and global life. While he mourns the richly diverse and fertile forests that once were, he accepts what is and puts his heart into working toward a better forest legacy for generations to come, than have the social engineers of the paradigm of extinction. He also gave a marvelous slide show talk to a large crowd about the web of life above and below ground."
